Job Description:
Full job descriptionAn established multi-office law firm is looking to recruit a Care Paralegal to join its busy Bedford office. This role would suit a motivated and compassionate individual with experience or a strong interest in public family law and care proceedings.
Working closely with experienced solicitors, the successful candidate will assist on a varied caseload involving Children Act matters and provide both legal and administrative support within a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities*Assisting solicitors with care proceedings and public family law matters
*Preparing legal documents, witness statements, and correspondence
*Attending client meetings and taking instructions
*Liaising with courts, counsel, local authorities, and external agencies
*Managing file administration and ensuring compliance requirements are met
*Assisting with legal aid applications and billing processes
*Providing high levels of client care and support throughout proceedings
*Supporting the wider team with administrative and legal tasks where required
About You*Previous paralegal experience within Care, Family, or Public Law desirable
*Knowledge of legal aid funding processes advantageous
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
*Ability to work proactively and manage competing priorities
*Professional, reliable, and client-focused approach
*Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
