Rape Crisis South London (RCSL) is entering a new chapter. With a new CEO, refreshed Senior Leadership Team, and ambitious vision, we are building a bold organisational strategy.
We are seeking a Finance Officer to join our Finance Team on a permanent basis at this key time.
As a specialist charity supporting survivors of sexual violence across twelve South London boroughs, we provide counselling, group therapy, advocacy, prevention education, and training. With an annual income of around £4 million, we are strengthening our infrastructure to better serve survivors and communities.
About the Role
The Finance Officer supports key financial functions, including recording transactions, allocating income and expenditure to funds, projects, and cost centres, processing BACS payments, and assisting with month-end schedules. This role is central to the charity’s administration.
What You’ll Do
*Process invoices, payments, receipts, and banking
*Reconcile bank, credit card, and fixed asset accounts monthly, including journals
*Manage debtor and creditor accounts, ensuring timely settlement
*Prepare and process month-end schedules (e.g. salary journal)
*Support year-end audits and respond to queries
*Assist in reviewing and implementing finance policies and procedures
*Support budget, forecast, and management accounts preparation
About You
Essential
You will work in line with RCSL’s vision, values, and feminist ethos, upholding survivors’ rights and promoting safety in line with safeguarding policies.
You will be proactive in learning, keeping up to date with relevant research, legislation, and practice, and participating in supervision, training, and service development. You must be willing to undertake other appropriate duties.
Person Specification
Essential
*AAT qualified (or equivalent), qualified by experience, or working towards a qualification (or willing to train)
*Experience using accounting software
*Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel and Word
*High accuracy and attention to detail
*Understanding of professional confidentiality
*Well organised, able to work under pressure
Desirable
*2+ years’ experience in a similar role in a charity/not-for-profit
*Knowledge of charity SORPs

Interview Process
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to interview via MS Teams.
Stage one: MS Teams with the Finance Manager and panel members
The process may take 3–4 weeks from advertisement to appointment.
The post holder will require a Basic DBS check.
The role is open for one month (until 12:00 noon on Wednesday 11 May 2026). Due to urgency, applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis—early applications are encouraged.
