We are seeking a Production Planner to join a busy manufacturing environment, playing a key role in ensuring materials and components are available to support uninterrupted production.
The Production Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring material and inventory requirements to ensure uninterrupted production flow. Working closely with Procurement, Logistics, and Manufacturing teams, this role plays a key part in maintaining optimal stock levels to support on-time delivery of customer demand.
This is a supplier-facing role requiring strong coordination, commercial awareness, and the ability to balance production needs with inventory efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
*Plan and schedule material requirements using MRP systems
*Manage inventory levels to balance production demand and stock efficiency
*Own relationships with a portfolio of suppliers, monitoring delivery and performance
*Place purchase orders, manage reschedules, and resolve supply issues proactively
*Work closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, Engineering, and Quality teams
*Monitor and report on supplier KPIs including OTIF and RFT
*Maintain accurate data across ERP systems and support continuous improvement
About You:
*Proven experience in production planning, procurement, or supply chain roles
*Experience working within a manufacturing environment
*Strong working knowledge of ERP and MRP systems
*Demonstrated experience managing supplier and internal stakeholder relationships
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*Competent user of Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
*Experience within the aerospace or aviation sector
*Ability to work confidently with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Quality, Finance, Logistics, and Commercial
*Clear and effective communication of progress, risks, and priorities in meetings
*Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to adapt to changing production demands
*Highly organised, self-motivated, and capable of prioritising a varied workload
*Confident in leading meetings and driving actions to completion
*Strong time management skills with the ability to meet internal and external deadlines
*Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment
