Full job descriptionSEN Support AssistantLocation: BB12 (Burnley area)
Contract: Full-time / Term-time
About the RoleWe are currently recruiting for a caring and committed SEN Support Assistant to join a supportive school setting in the BB12 area. This role involves working closely with pupils who have a range of additional needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs.
You will play an important role in helping pupils access learning, build confidence, and develop essential life and social skills within a structured and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities*Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN
*Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
*Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour
*Work closely with teachers and SENCO to implement support plans
*Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
*Assist with personal care where required
The Ideal Candidate*Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school, care, or youth work settings)
*Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills
*Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
*A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
