Gavin Kendall from Reed Practice is supporting a growing independent multi-site firm of Chartered Accountants in the search for an experienced Accounts Senior to join his clients established team. The Role

As an Accounts Senior, you will take responsibility for managing a varied portfolio of clients, primarily owner-managed businesses, delivering high-quality accountancy and advisory services. This is a hands-on role offering exposure to a broad range of technical work, alongside opportunities to support and develop junior team members.
Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review statutory financial statements and tax computations for a range of clients, including companies, LLPs, and sole traders

• Act as a key point of contact for client queries, ensuring a high standard of service delivery

• Prepare and review VAT returns and assist with statutory filings

• Work collaboratively with audit and tax teams to provide a seamless client service

• Supervise, coach, and support trainees and junior staff

• Manage your own workload effectively to ensure deadlines are met and work is delivered accurately and efficiently
Person Specification

• Several years’ experience within an accountancy practice environment

• ACA, ACCA or AAT qualified (or part-qualified); candidates qualified by experience will also be considered

• Strong technical knowledge with attention to detail and a commitment to quality

• Experience with accounting software such as IRIS, Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or specialist systems (e.g. Farmplan) would be advantageous

• Strong organisational and communication skills

• A proactive approach with a commitment to continuous professional development
