Test Strategy Consultant (Contract) Remote (occasional travel to Manchester)
£500-£600 per day - inside IR35
3-month initial contract
The OpportunityWe’re looking for an experienced Test Strategy Consultant to support a transformation programme by defining a consistent and scalable approach to testing across multiple services.
This role is purely strategic and advisory - focused on assessing current practices, identifying gaps, and recommending a clear path forward. You won’t be expected to execute testing or build automation frameworks.
What You’ll Be Doing*Assess the current testing landscape across services and platforms
*Conduct test maturity and capability assessments
*Identify gaps, risks, and inconsistencies in existing approaches
*Define a target testing strategy and operating model
*Develop standardised frameworks, governance, and best practices
*Provide clear, actionable recommendations to improve quality and consistency
*Engage with senior stakeholders to align on strategy and direction
What We’re Looking For*Proven experience in test strategy / test architecture / consulting roles
*Strong track record of defining enterprise-level testing approaches
*Experience delivering test maturity assessments and gap analysis
*Ability to operate at a strategic, organisation-wide level
*Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
*Comfortable working in a non-hands-on, advisory capacity
