*Hourly rate: £18.16 PAYE
*Location: Manchester
*Length of role: Initial 6 months
We are seeking a dedicated Housing Officer to join our Neighbourhoods Directorate team. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality, resident-focused services, ensuring the provision of safe and clean-living environments across Manchester. The successful candidate will be a key player in enhancing community engagement and maintaining excellent standards of service delivery.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Act as the main contact for a specific geographical patch of housing stock, managing all tenancy and estate management matters.
*Provide a wide range of resident-focused services to help residents maintain their tenancy and live in a safe, clean environment.
*Work closely with key stakeholders to develop effective partnerships and coordinate with other agencies to ensure effective outcomes for residents.
*Proactively identify and support the implementation of changes and improvements in line with organisational and Housing Services strategies.
*Conduct regular estate walkabouts with residents and stakeholders to ensure the area is well-maintained and welcoming.
*Process requests such as exchange applications and tenancy succession requests within statutory deadlines.
*Carry out regular tenancy visits to ensure residents are safe and well, addressing any support needs or issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Strong communication skills, with the ability to listen attentively and respond effectively to the needs of residents.
*Analytical skills with the ability to resolve queries using logical thinking.
*Proven ability to organize multiple tasks effectively and prioritize based on complexity.
*Creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to think outside of existing parameters and develop innovative solutions.
*Administrative skills to develop and maintain effective systems in a changing environment.
*A full driving licence and access to a car daily.
*An Enhanced DBS Certificate (DBS check will be undertaken by the authority on your behalf).
