Sheet Metal Operative - Punch Press (Amada)
*Location: Buntingford, Hertfordshire
*Job Type: Temp-to-perm
*Pay: £16.00 p/hr + Overtime at £21.00 p/hr - Good hours available
*Shift premium: Paid after 4:00pm (late shift)
Working hours:
*40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
*Early shift: 7:30am - 4:00pm
*Late shift: 1:00pm - 10:00pm (shift premium paid after 4:00pm)
*Flexibility required: rotating early/late shifts (late shift to be introduced soon)
The role:
We’re recruiting for an experienced CNC Punch Press Setter / Operator, ideally with Amada experience (or similar). This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with long-term prospects for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities:
*Set and operate Amada CNC punch press machinery
*Carry out tooling changes, first-off checks and maintain tolerances
*Read and work from engineering drawings
*Measure and inspect components using basic measuring equipment
*Complete job paperwork and maintain good housekeeping standards
*Follow site Health & Safety procedures at all times
Skills and experience required:
*Proven experience as a Punch Press Setter/Operator
*Amada experience is beneficial
*Confident reading engineering drawings
*Able to work to deadlines/targets while maintaining quality
*Reliable, quality-focused and flexible with working hours/shifts
