An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading infrastructure contractor delivering a major 5-year capital delivery programme for South West Water across Somerset.
This role offers the chance to take commercial ownership of a varied portfolio of water infrastructure projects whilst working within a well-established and growing civil engineering business with a strong reputation in the utilities sector.
Working closely with operational teams, the successful Quantity Surveyor will manage projects through the full commercial lifecycle - from procurement and subcontract management through to final account - with a strong emphasis on NEC contract administration, commercial performance, and client engagement.
This is an ideal opportunity for a commercially driven QS who enjoys managing multiple schemes in a fast-paced environment and is looking to progress their career within a long-term framework.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:
*Full commercial management of multiple infrastructure and capital works projects
*Administration of NEC contracts, including compensation events and change management
*Cost forecasting, CVR production, and financial reporting
*Procurement and management of subcontractors
*Supporting operational teams to maximise project profitability and performance
*Building and maintaining strong working relationships with both client and delivery teams
*Mentoring and supporting a Graduate Quantity Surveyor
About You
To be considered, you should have:
*Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure, utilities, water, or civil engineering
*Strong working knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts
*Experience managing multiple projects concurrently
*Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
*The ability to work collaboratively within project and client-facing environments
*A proactive and organised approach to commercial management
