Full job descriptionLearning Support Assistant (LSA) / SEN Teaching Assistant - Colchester
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) / SEN Teaching Assistant to join supportive schools in Colchester. We welcome applicants with experience in Primary or Secondary education, as well as candidates with transferable skills and a passion for supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Key Responsibilities:
*Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEN
*Support pupils with needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, and learning needs
*Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement support plans
*Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
We are looking for someone who:
*Has experience supporting children or young people in Primary or Secondary settings
*Has SEN experience or a strong interest in supporting additional needs
*Is patient, resilient, caring, and adaptable
Desirable experience:
*LSA, Teaching Assistant, SEN support, mentoring, youth work, coaching, or care experience
*Understanding of EHCPs and SEN strategies
*Experience supporting ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or behavioural needs
*Safeguarding or SEN-related training
