Role: Serious Injury Solicitor
Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000
Contract: Full time, permanent, hybrid

Executive to join a highly regarded claimant personal injury team handling complex, high-value cases.
This role will suit a technically strong litigator with significant experience managing serious injury matters and a genuine passion for supporting clients who have experienced life-changing injuries. Alongside managing your own caseload, you will play an active role in mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to the wider success and development of the department.
The Role
You will manage a varied caseload of predominantly RTA-related serious injury claims, typically valued between £50,000 and £150,000, involving complex liability and quantum issues.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
*Running a caseload of multi-track serious injury matters from inception through to settlement or trial
*Delivering exceptional levels of client care to individuals who have suffered traumatic and life-changing injuries
*Conducting regular client contact, including face-to-face meetings where appropriate
*Liaising with and instructing a range of experts including medical professionals, care experts, case managers, forensic accountants, architects, and counsel
*Analysing evidence and advising on liability, causation, and quantum issues
*Drafting key legal documentation including witness statements, pleadings, and schedules of loss
*Securing early interim payments and appropriate rehabilitation support for clients
*Negotiating settlements to achieve the best possible outcomes
*Managing files efficiently using a case management system and ensuring compliance with internal procedures and service standards
*Supporting and mentoring junior team members through technical guidance and file reviews
*Assisting with the ongoing development and profile of the department through networking, business development, and involvement with organisations within the serious injury sector
Candidate Requirements
Applications are invited from qualified Solicitors or Chartered Legal Executives with at least 4 years’ PQE, or equivalent experience handling serious injury litigation.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
*Strong experience handling claimant serious injury matters, particularly multi-track RTA claims
*Excellent technical knowledge and understanding of litigation and court procedures
*Outstanding client care and communication skills
*Strong negotiation and analytical abilities
*The ability to manage a demanding caseload within a target-driven environment
*Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
*Experience supervising, mentoring, or supporting junior colleagues
*Confidence using case management systems and Microsoft Office applications

Experience or involvement with organisations such as APIL, Headway, or the Spinal Injuries Association would be advantageous, although not essential.
