Full job descriptionWe’re working with a national youth charity supporting young people through cadet programmes across the UK, to recruit a detail-focused and proactive Financial Accountant to join their finance team.
This is a key role supporting the Director of Finance and Finance Manager, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial controls and smooth month-end, year-end and audit processes.
What You’ll Be Doing
Managing Month-End & Financial Processes
You’ll take ownership of month-end activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting across the organisation.
Supporting Year-End & Audit
You’ll play a key role in year-end preparation and external audit processes, ensuring compliance and readiness of all financial records.
Maintaining Financial Accuracy
You’ll oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, ensuring data integrity and correct financial handling.
Using Finance Systems Effectively
You’ll work with Sage 50 (or similar systems) to manage financial data and reporting.
Supporting a Purpose-Led Organisation
You’ll contribute to the financial stability of a charity focused on helping young people build confidence, skills and leadership through cadet programmes.
What We’re Looking For
*AAT Level 4 qualified (or equivalent)
*Experience in a finance department supporting month-end processes
*Experience handling Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
*Previous involvement in audit preparation or support
*Strong attention to detail and accuracy
*Experience using Sage 50 or similar finance systems
*High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information
