A supportive and inclusive Alternative Provision in Barking is seeking a resilient and compassionate Behaviour Support Mentor to work with students who require additional behavioural, emotional, and pastoral support.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a passionate Behaviour Support Mentor to make a real difference in the lives of young people who may face barriers to mainstream education.
The Role
*Supporting students with behavioural, emotional, and social needs
*Building positive relationships and promoting engagement in learning
*Managing challenging behaviour using restorative approaches
*Providing 1:1 and small group support
*Assisting teachers in creating a safe and structured learning environment
*Supporting students both inside and outside the classroom
The Ideal Candidate - Behaviour Support Mentor
*Experience working with young people in schools, PRUs, alternative provisions, youth work, or mentoring settings
*Calm, patient, and resilient approach
*Strong behaviour management and communication skills
*Ability to build trust and positive relationships with students
*Passion for inclusion and student wellbeing
