We are seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Accounts Semi-Senior to join our client’s growing practice team. The successful candidate will work with a varied portfolio of clients, supporting the preparation of accounts and providing high-quality service to businesses across multiple sectors.
This role is ideal for someone with accountancy practice experience who is studying towards a professional qualification and looking to progress their career within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Prepare statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
*Assist with the preparation of management accounts and VAT returns
*Support senior staff with client assignments and year-end accounts preparation
*Liaise directly with clients to obtain records and resolve queries
*Maintain accurate working papers and ensure compliance with accounting standards
*Assist with bookkeeping and cloud accounting support where required
*Prepare corporation tax computations and related schedules
*Meet deadlines and manage workload effectively across multiple assignments
*Support and collaborate with junior team members when required
Requirements
*Previous experience within an accountancy practice
*Good understanding of accounts preparation and bookkeeping principles
*Studying towards or part-qualified ACA or ACCA
*Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
*Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
*Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Desirable Skills
*Experience using software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or Iris
*Exposure to management accounts and VAT compliance
*Knowledge of cloud-based accounting systems
