London | Top 10 Accounting Firm
A Top 10 accounting firm is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to join its growing London team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong audit and accounting professional looking to move into a highly visible role focused on audit quality, technical advisory, regulatory compliance and process improvement within a leading professional services environment.
Working closely with the Technical Partner and senior leadership team, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the firm’s continued growth, quality initiatives and integration of newly acquired London offices.
Key Responsibilities
*Answer technical queries across the firm relating to: *Financial reporting
*Narrative reporting
*ISA audit methodology
*Risk management
*Ethics and independence
*Identify thematic areas requiring additional guidance, templates or training
*Support the development and delivery of initiatives to improve audit quality, efficiency and consistency across audit and accounts production processes
*Work with the Technical Partner to coordinate the external cold file review process
*Analyse thematic issues and root causes, developing remediation plans including training and coaching initiatives
*Assist in ensuring the firm remains up to date with: *Emerging technical matters
*Regulatory developments
*UK Ethical Standards
*US independence rules
*Support the implementation of new regulatory requirements and the continual development of firm-wide policies, procedures and processes
*Assist with the integration of newly acquired London-based offices
*Work alongside the Technical Partner and Head of Audit in developing assurance and advisory service lines
Requirements *ACA or ACCA qualified
*Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and ISA audit methodology
*Experience within a Top 10, mid-tier or Big 4 accounting firm environment
*Strong understanding of audit quality, compliance and risk management processes
*Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
*Experience delivering technical training or guidance would be advantageous
*Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
