Full job descriptionAn established and highly acquisitive services business based in the heart of Birmingham is seeking a professional interim to join its central finance team in a Financial Controller capacity. This role is ideal for a qualified accountant who is detail-oriented and thrives in a fast-paced, client facing environment.
You’ll be leading a small finance team of 3 direct reports, and will play a key role in consolidating and overseeing financial data from across the finance functions. This is a hands-on position with a strong emphasis traditional controlling in a client facing manner, making it well-suited to someone who enjoys the business partnering outside of the finance function.
Within this role you will be responsible for; leading the preparation of monthly management accounts and statutory financial statements, consolidating financial information from operational teams to ensure accuracy and completeness, managing the month-end close process, including balance sheet reconciliations and accruals as well as ensuring financial controls and procedures are maintained and improved where necessary.
Ideally, you will:
*Be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with Previous experience managing and developing finance teams.
*Have proven experience in a client facing role and a strong understanding of financial control.
*Have excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
*Be proficient in financial systems and Excel.
