Location: Ellesmere Port
Hours: 9:00am - 5:30pm
Working Pattern: Office Based
Holiday: 33 days inclusive of Bank Holidays

Purpose of the Role
To lead the finance function and provide timely, accurate, and consistent financial support to the business. The role is responsible for maintaining strong financial controls, ensuring compliance with statutory and HMRC regulations, and supporting operational and strategic business performance.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead and manage the finance team, planning and organising workloads to ensure an efficient, accurate, and consistent finance service across the business.
*Oversee the monthly management accounts process, including the timely submission of profit & loss accounts for each site and balance sheets for all legal entities.
*Manage all treasury and cash handling functions, ensuring the security, reconciliation, and accurate reporting of all monetary transactions.
*Identify and follow up on key financial performance matters to support the achievement of business objectives.
*Oversee payroll, expenses, balance sheet reconciliations, and fixed asset reporting, ensuring all processes are completed accurately, compliantly, and signed off appropriately.
*Work closely with the Head of Marketing on a monthly basis to support marketing strategies and implement agreed financial actions.
*Maintain and improve financial management and reporting systems, continually seeking more efficient ways to collate and report information across sites.
*Ensure VAT returns and all HMRC compliance requirements are completed accurately and submitted on time.
*Act as the main point of contact for General Managers regarding financial queries and support.
*Coordinate the annual audit process, including communication with auditors, provision of supporting documentation, completion of statutory accounts, and group reporting packs.
*Support operational teams with the annual budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring deadlines are achieved.
*Lead the finance function in maximising the use of finance and IT systems, providing guidance to users and driving system improvements.
*Attend site visits proactively and as required.
*Lead by example with a hands-on approach, continually developing personal skills and contributing to wider business activities.
*Ensure the head office finance team operates efficiently and provides excellent support to all sites.
*Take responsibility for ongoing professional development and maintaining up-to-date financial knowledge.
*Encourage the sharing of best practices across the wider organisation.
*Undertake any additional reasonable duties requested by senior management.
