Full job descriptionA Primary School in Newcastle Upon Tyne is looking for a Speech & Language Support professional to join their school-based provision from September 2026. This role is ideal for someone with a Speech and Language qualification or strong Sppech & Language experience who is confident supporting pupils with communication and language needs within a primary setting.
*Location: Newcastle (NE4)
*Hours: 8:30 - 15:30, Monday-Friday
*Start Date: September 2026 (trial sessions available ASAP)
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
*Provide targeted Speech & Language support to pupils across school
*Deliver small group and 1:1 interventions to develop communication skills
*Support pupils with speech, language, and social communication needs
*Help pupils build confidence with vocabulary, comprehension, and expressive language
*Work closely with teachers and SEND staff to embed strategies into the classroom
*Support pupils with communication barriers to access learning and routines

The ideal candidate will have:
*A Speech & Language qualification (or strong relevant experience)
*Experience supporting children with speech, language, and communication needs
*A calm, encouraging approach and strong interpersonal skills
*Confidence delivering interventions and tracking progress
*A proactive mindset and ability to work as part of a supportive school team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
