Time Appointments are recruiting on behalf of a leading transport business based in Felixstowe who are thrilled to be looking for a Traffic Operator to join their friendly team. Our client is looking for an experienced Traffic Operator to have the responsibility of the routing and planning of own vehicles.


Key Duties & Responsibilities:
*Routing and planning of own vehicles and dedicated subcontracted haulage suppliers with consideration for delivery time, driving hour’s legislation and vehicle operating restrictions.
*Booking VBS slots in accordance with work requirements
*Inputting data on the in-house system to create job files
*Revenue rating customer jobs and cost rating haulage supplier’s work
*Printing delivery notes
*Spot sub-contracting work to other haulage suppliers
*Dealing with clients and contractors by phone, and email
*Liaison with customers to ascertain their requirements, booking of suitable transport, payment of charges and final delivery arrangements
*General office admin as deemed necessary by Line Manager
*On call for out of hours and weekends for own vehicles and suppliers.


Skills & Experience Required:
*Minimum of three years’ experience in the routing of containers
*Transport experience is a necessity
*The ability to be meticulous and consistent with close attention to detail
*Computer literate with previous knowledge of Destin8 and the port VBS system
*The ability to work under pressure is essential
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills
*Flexible and adaptable with an excellent attitude to Customer Service
