Full job descriptionDriver Hire Southampton is recruiting on behalf of one of our clients for a hands-on Warehouse Technician / Engineering Assistant to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a mechanical, electrical, or technical background who is looking to build a long-term career within a specialist engineering environment.
The role offers a varied working day involving equipment preparation, warehouse operations, stock control, and supporting senior engineers.
Main Duties*Learning company products and testing specialist heating and cooling equipment within the warehouse
*Assisting lead engineers with testing, preparation, loading, and unloading of equipment
*Following company procedures and health & safety guidelines
*Logging returned items and reporting any faults or damage
*Picking and preparing orders accurately
*Supporting stock control, checks, and reporting shortages
*Keeping the warehouse clean and using equipment such as pressure washers when required
Skills & Experience Required*Mechanical engineering, electrical, or technical background preferred
*Comfortable with heavy lifting and working on your feet throughout the day
*Basic IT skills including Outlook
*Flexible to work overtime when required
*Excellent timekeeping and organisational skills
*Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a teams
*Positive attitude with willingness to learn new skills
*High attention to detail and pride in your work
