About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-driven Logistics Operations Coordinator to manage day-to-day shipping operations. This role is responsible for coordinating international shipments from booking through to delivery, ensuring smooth communication with shipping lines, agents, banks, and internal teams. You will work under the guidance of an experienced Logistics Consultant, allowing you to focus on execution while receiving support on complex cases.
Key Responsibilities
Shipment & Booking Management
Manage container bookings with shipping lines
Track confirmations, vessel schedules, and deadlines
Ensure all shipment details are accurate and complete
Haulage & Container Coordination
Arrange container release, collection, and delivery
Coordinate with warehouses and agents for timely loading
Ensure cargo reaches port within required cut-offs
Customs & Documentation Control
Coordinate customs requirements with agents
Ensure complete and accurate documentation
Manage timing of key communications
Bank & Document Release Coordination
Coordinate release of shipping documents with banks
Liaise with banks, customers, and agents
Monitor and escalate delays impacting cargo release
ERP Systems & Data Management
Maintain accurate shipment data in ERP systems
Track shipment progress and milestones
Support reporting and audit requirements
Financial Awareness (Xero Beneficial)
Assist alignment between logistics and finance
Support cost tracking and reconciliation
Work with Xero or similar systems (desirable)
Communication & Coordination
Act as central communication point across stakeholders
Maintain clear and professional communication standards
Skills & Experience
Essential:
Experience in logistics, shipping, or supply chain operations
Strong organisational skills
High attention to detail
Experience using ERP systems
Desirable:
Experience with Xero or similar accounting systems
Exposure to bank document handling / Letters of Credit
Knowledge of container shipping processes
