Job Description:
Full job descriptionWorkshop Recruitment is seeking a skilled HGV Mechanic to join a well-established, family-run business operating across the South of England. This Twilight Shift role offers the opportunity to work within a supportive team maintaining a fleet of commercial vehicles and equipment to the highest safety and compliance standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified HGV Mechanic looking for long-term stability, training opportunities, and a strong team culture.
Key Responsibilities
*Carry out vehicle servicing, repairs, and inspections to manufacturer and DVSA standards
*Diagnose faults across mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems
*Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and maintain high pass rates
*Complete job cards and time recording accurately
*Support planned maintenance schedules across the fleet
*Ensure all work is completed safely and cost-effectively
*Travel between sites when required
*Maintain high standards of housekeeping and health & safety
Skills & Experience Required
*Recognised apprenticeship in motor vehicle or plant engineering
*Experience working as an HGV Mechanic or similar role
*Strong understanding of pneumatic braking systems
*Confident carrying out electrical fault finding and repairs
*Ability to inspect vehicles to MOT standards
*Good organisation and communication skills
*Flexible attitude with willingness to learn new skills
*Full UK Driving Licence required
