Job Description:
Full job descriptionAlexander Daniels is proud to be partnering with a well-established fast-paced service business in Derby to recruit a Finance Assistant for a 12 month fixed term contract. This role is ideally suited to someone with 1-2 years’ experience in a finance or accounts position who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and progressive environment. You will gain exposure to a broad range of finance responsibilities, with the opportunity to build on your existing experience and progress within the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
*Processing purchase invoices and supporting accounts payable activities
*Raising sales invoices and assisting with credit control
*Completing bank reconciliations and posting daily cash transactions
*Assisting with month-end tasks, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
*Supporting the preparation of management accounts
*Liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies
*Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring strong attention to detail
*Providing general support to the wider finance team
Skills & Experience
*1-2 years’ experience within a finance or accounts role
*Experience with bank reconciliations / transactional finance duties
*Strong Excel skills (basic formulas, data handling)
*Good attention to detail and accuracy
*Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
*Confident communicator with a proactive and positive attitude
*Eagerness to learn and develop within a finance career
Qualifications
*AAT studying or keen to start - desirable
*Finance-related degree - advantageous but not essential
*GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent)
