Northampton Children’s Trust is seeking an experienced, passionate, and motivated Supervising Social Worker to join our dedicated Post Approval Team. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in supporting our foster carers and ensuring that children and young people receive high-quality, safe, and stable care placements where they can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
*Hold a caseload of approved foster carers, providing regular supervision, guidance, and support
*Contribute to the duty system and work collaboratively with the Placements Team to identify suitable placements
*Undertake assessments to understand the needs of children, young people, and families
*Regularly visit foster carers, children, and families to provide advice, support, and interventions
*Carry out direct work with children and families to build positive, trusting relationships
*Monitor and review placements, evaluating the effectiveness of interventions
*Ensure safeguarding and promote the welfare and well-being of children and young people at all times
*Complete reports, maintain accurate records, and contribute to reviews and meetings
*Undertake any additional duties required to support the service
Skills/Experience
*Minimum 3 years post-qualifying experience within an English Local Authority (essential)
*Recognised Social Work qualification
*Social Work England registration (must be current)
*Strong knowledge of fostering regulations and safeguarding procedures
*Excellent communication, assessment, and organisational skills
