We are seeking a compassionate, proactive, and dedicated Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in the London Borough of Waltham Forest. This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring Educational Psychologist, Child Psychologist, Therapist, Teacher, or SEN professional looking to gain valuable hands-on experience within a primary school setting.
This role involves working across both KS1 and KS2, supporting pupils academically, socially, and emotionally, including children with SEN and SEMH needs.

Job Description:
*Supporting pupils with SEN and SEMH needs within the classroom
*Delivering targeted interventions focused on emotional regulation, communication, literacy, and social skills
*Building positive and trusting relationships with children
*Supporting pupils who may experience anxiety, low confidence, behavioural challenges, or difficulties with emotional regulation
*Assisting children with Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social communication needs
*Helping pupils access learning in a positive and supportive way
*Supporting behaviour management strategies and classroom routines
*Encouraging independence, resilience, and self-esteem


We are looking for someone who:
*Holds a degree in Psychology or a related field
*Has a genuine passion for child development and mental wellbeing
*Is patient, empathetic, and emotionally intelligent
*Has a strong interest in SEN, SEMH, and inclusive education
*Can build positive relationships with children and staff
*Is calm, resilient, and adaptable
*Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills


Location: Waltham Forest, London
Position: Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant
Working Hours: 08:15am – 4:15pm (Full-Time)
Pay: £110
Key Stages: KS1 & KS2
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full Academic Year (Long-Term)
Trial Days: Selected candidates will be invited to attend paid trial day(s) during July 2026 as part of the recruitment process.
