Full job description Operational Finance Manager Swindon (Hybrid - 2-3 days onsite) £60,000 - £65,000 + benefits

Are you a commercially minded finance professional looking for a role with true ownership and impact?We’re recruiting an Operational Finance Manager to take full financial responsibility for a portfolio of operational entities. This is a high-visibility role offering the opportunity to partner with senior stakeholders and influence performance across a complex and growing organisation.

The Role

You will take end-to-end ("top to bottom") ownership of your portfolio, covering:
*Financial reporting and control
*Commercial decision support
*Cash flow and funding management
*Contract interpretation and performance
*Budgeting, forecasting, and long-term modelling
You’ll work closely with the Finance Director, Board stakeholders, and operational teams to ensure strong financial governance alongside driving commercial value.

Key Responsibilities
*Prepare high-quality monthly management accounts, including analysis and insights
*Own statutory reporting and lead the audit process
*Develop budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial models
*Monitor cash positions, funding requirements, and covenant compliance
*Interpret commercial contracts to ensure accurate revenue recognition and cost recovery
*Oversee the financial operations (including cost allocation and margin control)
*Design and manage intercompany charging models
*Act as a trusted finance business partner to operational and bid teams
*Drive process improvement and enhance reporting accuracy and transparency

About You
*Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with 3+ years PQE
*Strong experience managing multiple entities or complex group structures
*Proven ability to take ownership of end-to-end financial operations
*Commercially astute with experience in contract-driven environments
*Confident communicator, able to influence non-finance stakeholders
*Advanced Excel skills; experience with SAP/S4HANA desirable
*Proactive, organised, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment
