Head of Group Real EstateLocation: London - travel between Windsor, Reading and London
Work Pattern: Hybrid (2/3 days at the office, rest from home)
12 month contract (Mat Cover)
About the RoleWe are seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Head of Group Real Estate to lead and transform our global real estate and facilities function.
Reporting directly to the Group Chief Procurement Officer, you will play a critical role in shaping our property portfolio, workplace strategy, and capital programmes. This position combines strategic leadership with operational oversight and a strong focus on governance, sustainability, and data-driven decision-making.
Key ResponsibilitiesReal Estate & Workplace Strategy*Develop and deliver a comprehensive group-wide real estate strategy aligned with business growth and sustainability priorities
*Optimise the property portfolio to maximise efficiency, value, and employee experience
Facilities Management*Lead end-to-end facilities operations across all locations
*Ensure high standards of service delivery, maintenance, and workplace functionality
Capital Projects*Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of major capital programmes, including office developments, refurbishments, and fit-outs
*Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
Governance, Risk & Compliance*Ensure all real estate activities comply with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies
*Embed strong governance and risk management practices across the function
Health & Safety*Define and enforce robust health and safety protocols across all sites
*Ensure safe environments for employees, clients, and stakeholders
Sustainability & ESG*Drive sustainability initiatives across the real estate portfolio
*Implement energy-efficient technologies and environmentally responsible practices
Data & Performance*Leverage data and analytics to inform strategic decisions and optimise portfolio performance
*Embed a data-driven approach to real estate management
Financial Management*Own budgets, forecasts, and financial models for the real estate portfolio
*Ensure effective capital allocation and strong return on investment
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement*Build and lead a high-performing real estate team
*Collaborate with senior internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver strategic objectives
Requirements*8+ years’ experience in corporate real estate, facilities management, or a related field
*Proven experience managing large, multi-site real estate portfolios
*Strong track record in capital project delivery and portfolio optimisation
*Deep understanding of governance, compliance, and risk management
*Experience integrating sustainability and ESG principles into real estate strategy
*Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and investment analysis
*Experience using data and technology to support decision-making
*Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills
