The Role
We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team in the Aberdeen area. This role will focus on the design and development of subsea cutting tooling, supporting a range of offshore projects.
You will play a key part in delivering innovative, robust, and reliable tooling solutions for challenging subsea environments, working from concept through to manufacture and deployment.


Key Responsibilities
*Design and develop subsea cutting tools and mechanical systems
*Produce detailed engineering drawings and models using CAD (SolidWorks desirable)
*Conduct design calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection
*Support prototyping, testing, and validation of designs
*Work closely with manufacturing, project, and offshore teams
*Ensure designs meet industry standards and client specifications
*Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation within the engineering function


About You
*Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
*Experience in mechanical design, ideally within subsea, offshore, or oil & gas sectors
*Proficient in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks experience desirable)
*Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
*Experience designing for harsh or subsea environments is advantageous
*Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
*Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
