About UsMy client is a client-focused law firm based in Manchester, specialising in Housing Disrepair, Landlord & Tenant, Family, and Litigation matters. We are committed to providing practical legal advice and delivering excellent client care throughout every stage of the claims process.
The RoleWe are seeking a motivated and organised Pre-Litigation / Litigation File Handler to join our growing Housing Disrepair department. The successful candidate will manage their own caseload of housing disrepair matters from inception through to settlement or litigation, ensuring claims are progressed efficiently and in line with procedural requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Paralegal, Litigation Executive, or experienced File Handler looking to develop within a fast-paced and supportive legal environment.
Key Responsibilities*Managing a caseload of pre-litigation and litigated housing disrepair files
*Reviewing liability and assessing evidence
*Drafting legal documents and correspondence
*Liaising with clients, housing associations, local authorities, experts, and third parties
*Negotiating settlements with defendants and representatives
*Ensuring compliance with court deadlines and Civil Procedure Rules
*Preparing witness statements and trial bundles where required
*Maintaining accurate case management records
*Providing excellent client care throughout the lifecycle of the claim
Requirements*Previous experience handling litigation or pre-litigation matters
*Experience within housing disrepair, personal injury, civil litigation, or landlord & tenant matters preferred
*Strong organisational and communication skills
*Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently
*Knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules is advantageous
*Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management systems
*A proactive and team-oriented approach
