About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking School Janitor to join our team in Edinburgh on. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining safe, clean, and well-presented environments within an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities
*Opening and securing the school premises daily
*Carrying out routine maintenance, minor repairs, and general handyman duties
*Ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and external areas
*Monitoring heating, lighting, and alarm systems
*Assisting with setting up rooms and facilities for school events and activities
*Conducting basic health & safety checks and reporting issues promptly
*Supporting contractors and ensuring site compliance
What We’re Looking For
*Previous janitorial, maintenance, or facilities experience (school experience desirable but not essential)
*Basic DIY and maintenance skills
*Good understanding of health & safety practices
*Reliable, punctual, and proactive approach to work
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
*Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
*PVG/Disclosure Scotland check (or willingness to obtain)
