People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Night Transport Planning Supervisor to join our well-established and growing logistics client on a full-time permanent basis based in Tamworth.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Transport Planner, Route Planning Supervisor or Transport Supervisor looking to take ownership of a busy night operation within a fast-paced logistics environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the depot’s overnight transport function, managing drivers, coordinating routes, and maintaining excellent service levels across multiple depot operations.
This role would suit candidates with previous experience as a Transport Planner, Route Planner, Traffic Supervisor, Transport Supervisor, Night Shift Transport Coordinator or Logistics Supervisor.
Shifts
• Monday to Friday
• 19:30 – 04:30
Salary
• Up to £35,000 per annum depending on experience

Day-to-Day Duties
As a Night Transport Planning Supervisor, your duties will include:
• Planning and coordinating nightly transport routes across the local DE and WS areas
• Managing approximately 15 vehicles per shift including Vans, Rigids, and Artics
• Supervising around four trunking drivers to ensure all departures and arrivals run on time
• Liaising with other depot teams regarding trunk trailers and driver coordination
• Monitoring vehicle and driver performance throughout the night operation
• Ensuring compliance with transport legislation and company procedures
• Supporting operational efficiency and maintaining high customer service standards
• Acting as the key decision-maker during the night shift
Essential Skills
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• Previous experience within transport planning or route planning
• Experience supervising drivers or managing shift operations
• Strong geographical knowledge and route planning ability
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and make operational decisions confidently
• Good understanding of transport compliance and safety procedures
• Experience working within a fast-paced logistics environment
Desirable Experience
• Previous experience working within a pallet network or multi-drop operation
• Knowledge of transport management systems
• Experience coordinating trunking operations
Training
