Lancaster | Office Based (Non-hybrid)
Butler Rose Lancashire & Cumbria are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a growing, well-established business based in Lancaster, who are looking to strengthen their Purchasing team with the addition of an experienced Buyer / Purchasing Coordinator.
The business is seeking a proactive, organised individual to support purchasing operations and ensure continuity of stock, supplier performance, and service levels as the company continues to expand.
Salary & Benefits
*Salary: Upto £30k + company bonus
*Generous monthly company bonus scheme (following successful completion of probation)
*Holidays: 20 days plus 8 bank holidays
*Option to buy back up to 5 additional days holiday
*Company pension scheme
*On-site parking
*Working hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday
The Role
Reporting into the Head of Purchasing & Supplychain, you will play a key role in day-to-day purchasing activity, supplier liaison, and stock control.
Key responsibilities include:
*Monitoring stock levels and identifying purchasing requirements
*Running and compiling daily stock and purchasing reports
*Managing supplier enquiries and quotations, including price negotiation
*Processing purchase orders and communicating product and quantity requirements to suppliers
*Scheduling orders to meet production and stock availability requirements
*Managing special and direct delivery purchase orders, ensuring timely communication with sales teams and customers
*Following up with suppliers to confirm orders, changes, or delivery updates
*Tracking orders to ensure on-time delivery
*Liaising with warehouse teams to ensure goods are received in good condition and on time
*Assisting with overseas orders, including tracking and customs clearance processes
*Booking in deliveries and goods
*Investigating and reporting discrepancies with supplier deliveries
*Maintaining supplier information and documentation
*Reviewing supplier pricing on a regular basis
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
*Previous experience in a purchasing or buying role
*Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
*Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
*High levels of organisation with strong attention to detail
*The ability to manage workloads effectively in a fast-paced environment
*A flexible and adaptable approach to change
*A positive attitude when faced with challenges
*Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
*Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office
