Full job descriptionTrust Education are currently recruiting for a caring and enthusiastic Year 2 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school in the S75 area of Barnsley from September 2026 until December 2026.
This part-time role is mornings only and would suit somebody passionate about supporting young learners during a crucial stage of their education. The school is looking for a proactive and nurturing individual who can help create a positive and engaging learning environment within Key Stage 1.
The role will involve:*Supporting the Year 2 class teacher during morning lessons
*Working with small groups and individual pupils
*Assisting with phonics, reading, writing and numeracy activities
*Helping to maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
*Supporting pupils with their learning and development needs
The successful candidate will:*Have previous experience working within a primary school setting
*Ideally hold a Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant childcare qualification
*Be confident supporting children within KS1
*Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
*Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
