Job Description:
Full job descriptionWe are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-focused Regional Data Protection Officer (DPO) to join our Governance, Risk and Compliance team on a part-time, 6 month fixed-term contract working 22.5 hours per week. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced data protection professional to play a key role in ensuring compliance across a complex, multi-site education organisation.
Based at our Regional Support Office in Warwick (with relocation to Bedworth, Coventry in September 2026), you will act as the organisation’s subject matter expert for data protection, providing advice, oversight and assurance across the UK region.
About You
*Strong experience working within a data protection or compliance role, ideally in a regulated environment
*In-depth knowledge of UK data protection legislation and regulatory requirements.
*Experience managing DSARs, DPIAs and data breach processes
*The ability to interpret legislation and provide clear, practical advice to stakeholders
*Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
*A recognised data protection qualification (e.g. CIPP/E, BCS DPO Certificate) or equivalent experience is desirable.

*Advising on legal obligations and organisational responsibilities
*Monitoring compliance with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act, and associated legislation
*Primary point of contact with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) leading and coordinating Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) end-to-end
*Overseeing Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and supporting risk identification
*Managing and coordinating data breach response, investigation and reporting
*Maintaining the organisation’s Record of Processing Activities (ROPA)
*Delivering training, guidance and support to internal stakeholders
