We’re recruiting for a Despatch Assistant to join a well-established and growing engineering business.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in organisation and accuracy, and wants to build a long-term career within manufacturing or logistics. Previous despatch experience is helpful, but not essential as full training will be given.
The RoleYou’ll support the smooth running of the despatch function, ensuring parts are processed, packed and moved efficiently between suppliers and customers.
Key Responsibilities:*Processing parts requiring external treatment or subcontract work
*Raising purchase orders using internal systems
*Packing parts carefully to specification for dispatch
*Booking couriers and arranging transport
*Maintaining accurate records and paperwork
*Supporting goods-out activities and customer orders
*Working closely with the department manager to manage priorities
*Maintaining a clean and organised work area
What We’re Looking ForWe’d welcome applications from candidates with experience in:
Despatch, Goods Out, Warehouse, Stores, Logistics, Manufacturing or Production
You’ll ideally have:
*Strong organisation skills
*High attention to detail
*Good communication skills
*Basic computer skills including Outlook and Excel
*A reliable, proactive and positive attitude
