Job Description:
Full job descriptionMorson are working with a leading Aerospace Manufacturer who are looking for Manufacturing Engineers to join the team at the site in Burnley.
Key Responsibilities
*Design manufacturing processes following a Takt/Flow philosophy, prioritising ergonomic risk reduction.
*Develop and validate standard operating procedures, work instruction sheets, quality control points, inspection methods, and control approval authorities across engineering disciplines.
*reate routes, BOMs, master layouts, tooling requests, data sheets, COSs, production support drawings, tooling definitions, and CAM/NC data.
*Ensure process designs meet defined targets for quality, cost, and delivery.
*Provide technical guidance to both internal and external suppliers.
*Plan, lead, and coordinate activities contributing to industrial product validation.
*Manage stakeholder relationships within Programmes, supporting Health & Safety, Digitalisation, Environmental initiatives, and related areas.
*Represent manufacturing engineering with customers, in collaboration with the Industrial Programme Manager.
*Establish global manufacturing process concepts, contribute to plant and equipment selection, prepare factory layouts, and support detailed workplace layout definitions.
*Manage engineering risk within the UAP using PFMEA and SPC methodologies to ensure sustainability and repeatability of manufacturing processes.
Skills & Required Attributes
*Strong understanding of engineering definitions to support industrialisation, with the ability to work independently.
*Possession of a Technical Stamp, or willingness to achieve this within six months of appointment.
*Proven experience in DMAIC problem-solving methodology.
*Good working knowledge of manufacturing processes utilised on site.
*Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time, with consideration for cost.
*Advocate for product and process integrity.
*Ability to work autonomously when supporting industrialisation processes.
*Meet all relevant requirements within the skills matrix at the appropriate level.
Tools & Systems
*Proficient with engineering and supply chain information systems, including MRPII (ERP), Project Management, and PLM systems.
*Experience with Catia or equivalent CAD/CAM software.
*Competent with standard desktop applications.
*Understanding of project management principles.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills
*Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
*Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly.
*Capable of escalating issues appropriately and at the right level.
*Confident decision-maker who takes accountability.
*Effective team player.
*Acts as an ambassador for the function and company,
