MTrec recruitment are proudly representing our industry-leading client in their recruitment for a skilled mechanical fitter. This is a day shift position, and experience within heavy industry is essential.
The Job you will do:
*Carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs, and installations.
*Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
*Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and breakdowns.
*Read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals.
*Replace and fit components, including bearings, pumps, motors, conveyors, and gearboxes.
*Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
*Complete maintenance records and reports accurately.
*Support machinery upgrades and improvement projects.
*Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures.
*Work collaboratively with engineering and production teams to minimise downtime.
About you:
*NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, apprenticeship, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
*Experience in mechanical fitting or maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
*Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
*Ability to read engineering drawings.
*Knowledge of mechanical systems including hydraulics and pneumatics.
*Good understanding of health & safety practices.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
