Cad Designer
We are recruiting a practical and detail-focused Cad Designer to join a busy design team. This is a hands-on role for someone with some experience in CAD design and systems who is enthusiastic about building and translating ideas into accurate technical drawings.
Key responsibilities
- Produce and revise 2D and 3D CAD drawings and detailed technical documentation.
- Maintain and manage CAD systems, templates and libraries to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Work closely with project teams and site/building colleagues to develop fit-for-purpose designs.
- Convert conceptual sketches and site information into manufacturable/buildable drawings.
- Carry out basic checks, dimensioning and bill of materials preparation as required.
- Support continuous improvement of drawing standards and CAD workflows.
What we’re looking for
- Some experience in CAD design and CAD systems (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
- A genuine interest in building, construction or fabrication and an understanding of how drawings are used on site.
- Strong attention to detail and good spatial awareness.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Organised, able to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
- A portfolio or examples of CAD work is desirable.
