Transport Administrator
Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Location: Ipswich (Town Centre – Free Parking Available)
Hours: Monday to Friday (8:00–16:30 or 9:00–17:30 shift pattern)
We are currently seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Transport Administrator to join a busy and supportive team based in Ipswich. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in planning, coordination, and accuracy.
This role would suit someone with strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills. Experience within transport or logistics is highly desirable, but the most important attribute is the ability to plan effectively and manage multiple tasks with precision.
The Role
As a Transport Administrator, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth coordination of container deliveries and supporting day-to-day operational processes. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, communicating with customers and suppliers, and ensuring all administrative tasks are completed efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
*Coordinate and book haulage, liaising closely with third-party transport providers
*Schedule and monitor deliveries, ensuring updates are communicated clearly
*Process customer orders accurately using internal systems (including Sage)
*Raise and issue invoices in a timely manner
*Maintain accurate records of sales and customer data
*Provide administrative support to the sales team
*Handle customer and supplier enquiries professionally
*Communicate delivery times and updates directly to customers
*Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders
*Provide general office support, including answering calls and directing enquiries
About You
*Highly organised with strong planning and coordination skills
*Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
*Confident communicator with strong customer service skills
*Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
*Comfortable using IT systems and learning new software
*Able to work both independently and as part of a team
Desirable Experience
*Previous experience in transport, logistics, or a similar coordination role
*Knowledge of container movements or HIAB operations
