Job Description:
Full job descriptionLooking for a finance leadership role where you can actually see the impact of your work? Here’s your chance to join a growing organisation at a pivotal moment.
As Financial Controller, you’ll be right at the heart of a business that’s experienced rapid growth, with ambitious plans to keep that momentum going. You’ll help shape the future, lead in developing internal policies and controls, and play a key part in preparing the business for a future confidential transaction. If you want to be part of a team that values hard work, enjoys a good social, and makes a real difference to people’s lives through energy improvement, this is the one to watch.
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for:
*Delivering management accounts and supporting multi-entity reporting, including consolidation of three businesses
*Drafting statutory account packs and acting as the main point of contact for auditors
*Overseeing P&L, adjustments, variance analysis, cost of sales, and detailed reporting on installations, materials, and labour
*Managing the month-end process and providing meaningful reports to directors
*Rolling up your sleeves to support a small finance team and get involved wherever needed
*Managing fleet administration and supporting the wider office team
*Bringing a strategic view while handling the day-to-day finance basics
*Supporting future due diligence and getting the business ready for sale
What you will need:
*Previous experience in a similar role (Financial Controller, Head of Finance, Finance Manager), ideally within construction, trade, or a related sector
*Hands-on approach and willingness to get involved in all aspects of finance
*Understanding of CIS, B2B and B2C environments, and a pragmatic approach to automation or AI platforms
*Qualified or QBE
What you will get:
*25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays
*Flexible working hours (start early, finish early or vice versa)
*Great social events, including Newbury racecourse days and memorable Christmas parties
*The chance to join the senior leadership team as the business grows
*Onsite parking
