An established and growing infrastructure / energy-related organisation is looking to appoint a Senior Management Accountant to support the delivery of accurate financial reporting, commercial insight, and operational performance analysis across a group of entities.
This is a broad role offering strong exposure across management accounts, business partnering, forecasting, and process improvement, whilst also giving the opportunity to mentor and support a junior member of the team.
Key Responsibilities *Ownership of monthly management accounts for multiple entities
*Preparation and posting of journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
*Production of month-end reporting packs including P&L, balance sheet and supporting schedules
*Provide meaningful variance analysis and commercial commentary against budgets and forecasts
*Support budgeting and forecasting processes across the business
*Partner with operational and regional stakeholders to improve financial understanding and performance
*Support year-end audit processes and statutory reporting requirements
*Manage cashflow forecasting and intercompany funding requirements
*Identify opportunities to improve reporting, controls and overall financial performance
*Mentor and support a junior Management Accountant, reviewing work and assisting with development
Candidate Profile The successful candidate is likely to be:
*ACCA / CIMA qualified (or qualified by experience)
*Experienced within management accounting in a multi-entity environment
*Comfortable partnering with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
*Strong analytically with the ability to explain the "so what" behind the numbers
*Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines
*Confident using Excel and financial systems
Exposure to budgeting, forecasting and operational business partnering would be highly advantageous.
