Job Description:
Full job descriptionReed Finance is delighted to be partnering with a growing and well-established organisation to recruit an experienced Credit Controller to join their finance team based in the Milton Keynes area.
This is a key role responsible for managing customer accounts, supporting cash flow performance, and minimising bad debt across the business. You will act as a central point of contact for credit control activities, working closely with operational and commercial teams to ensure a smooth and efficient end-to-end order-to-cash process.
This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of credit risk, influence business decisions, and contribute to the financial stability of a dynamic and expanding organisation.
Duties Include:
*Set up and maintain customer accounts within ERP systems, ensuring accurate and compliant data.
*Conduct detailed credit checks and assess customer creditworthiness to inform decision-making.
*Proactively manage and recover outstanding debts, reducing aged debt and improving cash flow.
*Negotiate payment plans and maintain strong, professional relationships with customers.
*Collaborate with Depot Managers, Regional Directors and Commercial teams to align on credit terms and billing practices.
*Monitor and review credit limits in line with risk exposure and business objectives.
*Track and analyse key metrics including aged debt and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
*Produce aged debt reports, cash flow forecasts, and commentary for senior stakeholders.
*Investigate and resolve customer queries relating to invoices and payments in a timely manner.
*Support continuous improvement of credit control processes and financial controls.
Requirements:
*Proven experience within credit control, debt recovery and credit risk management.
*Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships internally and externally.
*Good analytical skills and a commercially focused mindset.
*Experience using ERP systems (Oracle NetSuite highly desirable).
*Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
*Ability to manage workload effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Salary & Benefits:
A salary in the region of £28,000-£30,000 per annum is on offer, depending on experience.
