An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a large-scale, highly automated logistics operation in the Cambridgeshire area as part of a major operational transformation programme.
We are recruiting for two Shift Managers to lead high-performing warehouse operations within a fast-paced distribution environment processing significant annual volume across a modern logistics facility.
These are hands-on leadership roles managing teams of between 20-30 operatives per shift, requiring strong operational presence, excellent people leadership and the ability to drive standards, performance and change from day one.
The Operation*100,000 pallet capacity site
*1.8 million pallets processed annually
*Significant automation investment programme
*SAP and WMS implementation projects underway
*AI-driven operational systems being introduced
*Large-scale, fast-moving logistics environment
The RoleReporting into senior operational leadership, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of your shift operation, ensuring service, productivity, safety and people performance targets are consistently achieved.
This role requires an individual who can lead from the front, motivate teams and use data to make effective operational decisions in a challenging and evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities*Lead and manage a team of 20-30 warehouse operatives
*Drive operational performance across safety, productivity and service
*Deliver strong people leadership and team engagement
*Support and embed operational change initiatives
*Use operational data and KPIs to improve performance
*Work closely with senior leadership on continuous improvement projects
*Support automation and systems implementation projects
*Maintain high operational standards across the shift
What We’re Looking For*Experience within warehousing, logistics or distribution operations
*Proven leadership capability within a fast-paced environment
*Strong presence and the ability to positively influence teams
*Confident decision-maker with a proactive approach
*Comfortable working within change and transformation environments
*Computer literate with strong operational data awareness
*Exposure to SAP, WMS or similar warehouse systems preferred
*Interest in automation, technology and operational improvement
*Ability to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact
