Sector: New Build, Extensions, Refurbishment & Fit-Out
Overview
Our client is looking to appoint a motivated and commercially driven Quantity Surveyor at Project QS to Senior QS level to join their growing team based in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of new build, extension, refurbishment, and fit-out projects throughout Yorkshire and the East Midlands.
The successful candidate will be hands-on, proactive, and capable of managing projects independently while demonstrating strong commercial awareness and initiative.
Key Responsibilities
*Managing the commercial aspects of construction projects through to final account
*Preparing cost plans, valuations, variations, and final accounts
*Subcontract procurement and management
*Cost reporting and forecasting
*Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and site teams
*Supporting project delivery to ensure commercial targets are achieved
*Conducting regular site visits (typically once per week)
Project Portfolio
The role will involve working across a range of projects including:
*New build and extension schemes up to approximately £5M
*Fit-out and refurbishment projects up to approximately £2M
*Current freelance/live requirements include:
*Office fit-out project in the East Midlands
*School refurbishment project in West Yorkshire
Candidate Requirements
*Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
*Background across both new build and refurbishment projects is essential
*Fit-out experience would be advantageous
*Commercially aware with strong organisational skills
*Driven individual who shows initiative and application
*Ability to manage workloads independently and communicate effectively with project teams and clients
Working Arrangement
*Office based in Leeds
*Site travel required approximately once per week
*No home working / fully office-based role
Package
*£50,000 - £60,000 salary depending on experience
*Permanent opportunity with long-term progression potential
*Freelance candidates will also be considered depending on experience and availability
