Full job descriptionPositive Employment is currently recruiting for a Committee Services Manager for our client a local government organisation based in East London.
The successful post holder will be responsible for coordinating and managing the work of the Committee Services Team, ensuring the effective, efficient and customer focused delivery of high-quality support administration to the organisation’s decision making and scrutiny committees, panels, boards and working groups. This includes striving for continuous improvement of the service.
The post holder will play a key role in ensuring transparency, good governance and compliance with statutory and constitutional requirements.
This role is a temporary contract initially for 6 months with the possibility to extend. This role is hybrid working with 3 days in office, 2 days remote per week. Evening events and committee/council meetings are required as a part of the role.
Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:
*Specific personal responsibility for supporting the meetings of the organisation and cabinet and ensuring the team support all other committees, panels etc.
*Personally support and advise officers on the Scheme of Delegations and decision-making ensuring all decisions are made in accordance with law.
*Ensure the service is able to support a range of other meetings including key partnerships, internal working groups and other meetings as directed and undertakes a range of related duties i.e. support for the Monitoring Officer, review of the Members’ Allowances, maintenance of the Member Officer Registers of Gifts and Hospitality, developing Members intranet etc.
*Plan, organise and direct at a strategic level the provision of committee services to the organisation and on an on-going basis to meet the democratic needs and requirements of the organisation.
Working Hours: 37hrs / Monday - Friday
Pay: £300.00 per day
