Job Description:
Full job descriptionAn established Housing organisation is currently looking to recruit a permanent Housing Manager based in the Bedfordshire area. This is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring effective tenancy management, driving service performance, and delivering positive outcomes for residents. You will oversee a team of housing professionals, ensuring services are delivered in line with organisational standards, regulatory requirements, and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
*Manage a designated patch of properties, delivering a comprehensive and customer-focused tenancy management service
*Oversee void properties, including arranging viewings and sign-ups for new tenancies
*Carry out property and estate inspections, including end-of-tenancy checks and mutual exchange visits
*Respond to anti-social behaviour cases and neighbour disputes, taking appropriate action including legal proceedings where required
*Support rent arrears recovery and contribute to effective tenancy sustainment
*Lead and manage a team of Housing Officers and Administrators, including regular 1:1s, performance management, and objective setting
*Maintain accurate and up-to-date housing management records in line with compliance requirements
*Ensure estates are maintained to a high standard through regular inspections and contractor performance monitoring
*Oversee external contractors, ensuring delivery against service standards for grounds maintenance, cleaning, and related services
*Promote resident engagement, encouraging tenant participation and supporting community development initiatives
Additional requirements:
*Previous experience with social housing including management
*Possess knowledge of housing law and regulation
*Excellent communication skills and basic IT skills are essential
*A driver with access to a car is essential for this role
*DBS will be required for this role
