£37,000 to £45,000 depending on experience

As an Audit and Accounts Senior in Peterborough, you will sit within an established team where clear expectations, defined responsibilities, and consistent support allow you to focus on delivery. Within a well-established Accountancy environment, you will be responsible for producing reliable financial information for a wide range of clients, while also ensuring junior team outputs are reviewed and completed to standard. The role is varied but process-driven, with a clear focus on meeting deadlines, maintaining quality, and following established procedures.
Key Responsibilities
*Prepare statutory financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, limited companies, and charity clients
*Carry out audit work from planning through to completion in line with set procedures
*Assist with independent examinations for charity clients
*Prepare cash flow information and supporting financial schedules
*Respond to client queries in a clear and timely manner
*Produce draft tax computations and assist with VAT return preparation
*Review work produced by junior staff and ensure accuracy and compliance
*Support the training and guidance of junior team members as required
*Deliver assigned work within agreed budgets and deadlines
*Assist with year-end accounts preparation in accordance with relevant standards
What We’re Looking For
*ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or actively working towards qualification
*Solid experience within general practice covering audit, accounts, and tax
*Confident use of accounting systems and strong IT skills
*Clear and professional communication style
*Strong attention to detail and consistent approach to quality
*Ability to manage workload in an organised and methodical way
*Comfortable working within set processes and structured workflows
*Reliable, accountable, and able to deliver work to deadline
*Previous experience reviewing junior work would be beneficial
