Rate: Band 5 – £19.30 per hour Umbrella
Location: East and West Sussex (multi-site) - Work Van provided
Duration: 3–6 months
Hours: 8am – 4pm Monday – Friday – 37.5 hours a week
Venn Group have partnered with an NHS Trust based in Sussex to recruit a Plumber on a 3–6 month contract.
You would be responsible for the service, maintenance and repairs of plumbing systems and equipment across a large NHS Hospital. This includes water systems, pipework, drainage, fixtures and sanitary installations, alongside fault finding, ordering of parts, installations and ensuring compliance across the site. You would assist with all aspects of PPM and reactive maintenance to provide a safe and compliant environment for staff and patients.
Key Duties:
*Carry out maintenance and minor works on plumbing systems, plant and services.
*Diagnose and repair faults on water systems, pipework, drainage and sanitary fittings.
*Undertake remedial works following inspections relating to water hygiene and plumbing compliance.
*Assist in relation to Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks and schedules.
*Advise department managers regarding minor plumbing/mechanical improvement and project works, including cost input.
*Conduct condition reports and provide written feedback on plant and equipment to support backlog maintenance planning.
*Liaise with approved contractors for urgent maintenance issues and breakdowns when required.
The successful candidate must have:
*Full UK Driving Licence – work van provided
*NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing (or equivalent qualification)
*Proven ability to plan and prioritise work under pressure and meet deadlines in line with SLAs & KPIs
*Post-qualification experience within a plumbing or building services maintenance environment
*Strong communication, organisation and practical maintenance skills
