Full job descriptionThink Accountancy & Finance are supporting a fantastic business in the search for a Finance & Operations Assistant to join their welcoming team for a 12 month FTC, Maternity cover.
We need someone who knows finance, understand accounting principles, but maybe you enjoy the operational side just as much!

This is not a standard Accounts Assistant role. Whilst a solid understanding of finance and end-to-end processes is essential, this position is much broader than that. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys variety, likes getting involved across a business, and wants to grow into a key support person working closely alongside the Head of Finance & Operations.

The Opportunity
This role offers a rare blend of finance, operations, administration and business support responsibilities.
You’ll be involved in everything from supporting financial processes and resolving complex queries, through to improving internal operations, assisting with reporting, supporting HR administration and helping keep the wider business running smoothly.
No two days will look the same, and the business is looking for someone who enjoys that kind of environment.
Responsibilities will include:
* Supporting invoicing, billing and finance administration processes
* Assisting with payment checks and reconciliations
* Investigating and resolving complex billing queries
* Supporting Credit Control processes
* Payroll and pension administration support
* Reviewing internal procedures and identifying process improvements
* Assisting with reporting, documentation and operational administration
* Supporting employee administration and HR-related coordination
* Providing wider business and operational support where required
This role would suit somebody who:
* Has previous finance or accounts experience and understands end-to-end finance processes
* Enjoys finance, but also enjoys operations, organisation and problem solving
* Wants a broader and more varied role within a business
* Is highly organised, proactive and adaptable
* Enjoys becoming a trusted and relied upon person within a team
* Has strong attention to detail and a naturally supportive attitude
* Communicates confidently and enjoys working collaboratively across a business
You could currently be:
* An Accounts Assistant wanting broader exposure
* Someone with AAT studies or finance experience who no longer wants a purely traditional finance path
* Someone who enjoys operational support just as much as numbers
