Job Description:
Full job descriptionWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Key Stage 3 Special Educational Needs Teacher to join a specialist provision in Ealing. This role involves supporting students with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) by delivering engaging, differentiated lessons within a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm
Key Stage 3 Special Educational Needs Teacher- Key Responsibilities*Plan and deliver differentiated lessons for Key Stage 3 students with SEND.
*Support students with needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, and learning difficulties.
*Develop and implement individual learning plans and support EHCP targets.
*Adapt teaching methods, resources, and classroom activities to meet varying learning needs and abilities.
*Create a positive and nurturing classroom environment that promotes engagement and independence.
*Monitor, assess, and record student progress and provide feedback to parents/carers and senior staff.
*Implement effective behaviour management strategies and support students’ emotional regulation.
*Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and external professionals.
*Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, equality, and inclusion at all times.
*Participate in school meetings, training sessions, and extracurricular activities where required.
Requirements*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
*Experience working with KS3 students within SEN, alternative provision, or inclusive educational settings.
*Strong understanding of SEND strategies and differentiated teaching approaches.
*Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
*Ability to build positive and supportive relationships with students and staff.
*Strong communication, organisational, and assessment skills.
*Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Key Stage 3 Special Educational Needs Teacher- Desirable Skills and Experience*SEN specialism or additional SEND qualifications/training.
*Experience supporting students with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
*Team Teach, PECS, Makaton, or trauma-informed practice training.
*Experience working within specialist provisions or alternative education settings.
